Louise Line: Sign Up for Health Care Coverage!
November 1st marks the start of New York’s health insurance open enrollment period!
Did you know that the average cost for a three-day hospital stay is $30,000? Or that a broken leg can cost up to $7,500? Health insurance helps protect you and your family from unexpected expenses like these.
From now until January 31, 2018, you can purchase a plan or renew your coverage through New York State of Health, our state’s health insurance marketplace.
If you sign up by December 15th, you can get coverage that starts on January 1, 2018.
Coverage could be more affordable than you think. That’s because financial help is available. During last year’s enrollment period, 8-in-10 people qualified for financial help – for most people, that meant they could find insurance premiums between $50 and $100 per month.
